About President Trump
The 45th and 47th President of the United States
Donald John Trump is the 47th President of the United States, having previously served as the 45th President from 2017 to 2021. Born in Queens, New York, in 1946, Trump built a global business empire before entering politics, becoming one of the most consequential political figures in modern American history.
Before his presidency, Trump was a successful real estate developer, television personality, and businessman. He transformed the Trump Organization into an international brand encompassing real estate, hotels, golf courses, and entertainment ventures. His role as host of NBC's "The Apprentice" from 2004 to 2015 brought him into millions of American homes and established his reputation as a decisive business leader.
In 2016, Trump launched his first presidential campaign, defeating a crowded Republican primary field and then Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the general election. His first term focused on tax cuts, deregulation, conservative judicial appointments including three Supreme Court justices, renegotiating trade deals, and an "America First" foreign policy approach.
After leaving office in January 2021, Trump remained the dominant figure in Republican politics. He announced his 2024 presidential campaign in November 2022 and went on to secure the Republican nomination and win the 2024 general election, becoming only the second president in American history to serve non-consecutive terms.
President Trump's second term agenda includes securing the border, reducing inflation, achieving energy independence, and restoring American strength abroad. His political movement has reshaped the Republican Party and American conservatism, inspiring millions of supporters across the country.
