Andrew Harris

Andrew Peter Harris has emerged as a dedicated public servant and principled conservative leader representing Maryland's Eastern Shore and parts of Baltimore County. Born on January 25, 1957, Harris combined his medical expertise with a passion for public service, becoming the sole Republican in Maryland's congressional delegation and a prominent voice for conservative principles.

A trained anesthesiologist, Harris built an impressive medical career at Johns Hopkins University while simultaneously serving his country through military service. From 1989 to 1992, he served as a commanding officer in the Johns Hopkins Naval Reserve Medical Unit, demonstrating his commitment to both healthcare and national defense. Harris first entered politics at the state level, winning election to the Maryland Senate in 1998 after defeating incumbent F. Vernon Boozer in the Republican primary.
